Meet The Pastor

Rev. Jerry K. Tipton was born in York, PA and raised
in Windsor, PA from the age of 10 years on.

His parents, Carl and Ruth Tipton,
are native to Tennessee, but moved
to York County in the early 1950's.

Our pastor attended Texas Bible College
from 1977 - 1979.

Upon his return, he reunited with an old friend, Sally A. Linker, and they got married on March 22, 1980.

The newlyweds moved to Houston, TX
and taught in Bethel Christian Academy
(a division of Rev. O.R. Fauss' church) from
August 1980 until May 1981.

From June 1981 until May 1983 he first served as Sunday School Superintendent and then as Youth Pastor of Bethel Apostolic Church, York, PA.

In May 1983 Rev. J.K. Tipton received his
local minister's license with the
United Pentecostal Church International
(he received his general license on June 18, 1984 and was ordained on July 29, 1991).

The Tipton's pastored Apostolic Faith Church in
Hazleton, PA, from May 1983 until May 1985.

From 1988 until April 1990
he was an Assistant Pastor at
Apostolic Lighthouse, Frederick, MD
(pastored by Rev. Michael Mangold).

Easter Sunday, April 1990, was their first service at Bethel Apostolic Church, York, PA.
They were appointed the
position of music directors.

Rev. Tipton was voted in as the Assistant Pastor of Bethel Apostolic Church on January 2, 1991.

Bethel Apostolic Church's pastor of 22 years, Rev. D. Keith Barker, resigned in May 2000 and Rev. Jerry Tipton was voted in as pastor on May 10, 2000.

Presbyter for the PA District,
United Pentecostal Church Int. on May 18, 2002.
